Keith Foster Golf Course Design

Keith Foster grew up in Florida where he played competitive golf. While attending college, he was a maintenance superintendent for four years.

In 1981, Foster joined Wadsworth Golf Construction as a Construction Project Manager. During his five years with Wadsworth, he was involved in eight golf course projects throughout the Southwest, among them the green renovation work at Augusta National.

In 1986, Foster became a part of the national design firm Arthur Hills and Associates. While with the design firm for five years, he was involved in fifteen golf course projects including Bighorn (hosted Skins Game 1992-1995), Harbour Pointe (Golf Digest's 1991 top public course in country) and Walking Stick (ranked among the top ten municipal courses in country).

Foster established his own firm, Keith Foster Golf Course Design, in 1991 and has since opened six exceptional golf courses. Two have received national recognition including The Quarry (#28 in Golf Digest's top 75 upscale courses in country and ranked in 1996 and 1991 as top public course in Texas by Dallas Morning News) and Sun Ridge Canyon (#42 in Golf Magazine's top 100 public courses and top golf course in Arizona).

Keith Foster Golf Course Design is anticipating an exciting 1997 with the opening of four outstanding golf courses: Texas Star in Euless; Washington Golf Club in Seattle; re-opening of Meadowbrook in St. Louis; and Haymaker in Colorado. Four golf courses are under construction in Texas, Illinois, Missouri and California while four more golf courses are under design in Chicago, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and the Chesapeake Bay area.

Foster is a member of the American Society of Golf Course Architects, the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America, the United States Golf Association, National Golf Foundation, Donald Ross Society and the Golf Collectors Society.
